Litchfield Democratic Town Committee 2024 Scholarship

High school students doing exam in classroom
The Litchfield Democratic Town Committee is again offering a scholarship in 2023 to high school seniors who are Litchfield residents, register to vote as Democrats, and plan to attend college or a certified apprentice program.

How you can help

This year, we are holding an online fundraiser in an effort to increase the scholarship funds available. Please contribute if you are able – every dollar will go directly to the scholarship and every little bit helps!
Contributions by check may be mailed to:
Litchfield Democratic Town Committee
PO Box 1673
Litchfield, CT 06759
and must be accompanied by the Individual Contributor Form
Please note “2024 scholarship” on your check.

Please also note that contributions to the scholarship fund will count toward your maximum allowed annual contribution to the LDTC ($2,000 for most people).

The Litchfield Democratic Town Committee promotes good government and Democratic principles at every level of our civic life. The committee seeks out and supports qualified Democrats to run in and win elections at every level and encourages citizens to vote. It is essential that young people get involved in these processes to learn the leadership and governance skills so crucial to a well-functioning democratic society. The LDTC Scholarship Fund is a step toward that goal.

How to Apply

Litchfield Democratic Town Committee Scholarship 2024

In Memory of John Post

The Litchfield Democratic Town Committee (LDTC) is pleased to offer a scholarship to high school seniors who are Litchfield residents.  This year’s scholarship is in memory of John Post, who chaired the Litchfield Community Center’s Board of Directors and town-sponsored Sustainable Litchfield Committee, which was instrumental in creating Litchfield High School’s solar array. John built a Net Zero home, grew an organic garden and loved to cook. Everything he did demonstrated his respect for the environment that sustains us all.

The LDTC promotes good government and Democratic principles at every level of our civic life; seeks out and supports qualified Democrats to run in and win elections; and encourages citizens to vote. It is essential that young people get involved in these processes to learn the leadership and governance skills so crucial to a well-functioning democratic society. The LDTC Scholarship is a step toward that goal.
