Dave Pavlick, Board of Education
David Pavlick has been a resident of Litchfield since 1992. He and his wife raised their family here, have businesses in town, and their children were educated in the Litchfield School system.
David’s private practice, Litchfield Neurofeedback, provides psychotherapy and neurofeedback services specializing in children, adolescents and young adults dealing with the problems of trauma, addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, attention, and learning difficulties. He is licensed in Connecticut and New York, and is certified through the Biofeedback Certification Institute of
America. He has held clinical directorships at The Country Place, Hartford Hospital and the Forman School.
David was born and raised in Ohio, graduated from Hope College with a B.A in Philosophy, and moved to New York City to work with runaway adolescents. He did his graduate work at Columbia University. His professional career included work at psychiatric hospitals, private & public clinics, residential treatment programs, and schools as a consultant. David has been the director of six institutional programs, was founding and Executive Editor of the Contemporary Psychotherapy Review, and was the owner/manager of The Sherman Hill Counseling and Therapy Center in Woodbury, Connecticut. He has written and presented on eating disorders,
chronic mental illness, exercise compulsion, children’s issues, and play therapy.
David has served on Litchfield’s Planning & Zoning Commission, The Board of Ethics, and most recently, on the Board of Education, where he chaired the Policy Committee. He has been active as a volunteer with Bantam Boy Scout Troop 29, the Litchfield-Morris Rotary Club, the Litchfield Education Foundation, the Litchfield High School Scholarship Association, and is a member of the Northwest Connecticut Sportsmen’s Association.
