PUBLIC HEARING ON BANTAM ANNEX TRANSFER OF LAND & BLDGS
This public hearing concerns the transfer of the Bantam Annex on Doyle Road, Bantam, and ten acres of adjoining land to the Litchfield Housing Trust for the purpose of affordable housing. The town would donate the property to the Housing Trust—for free— but there is growing opposition. Currently the Annex houses the town’s Park and Rec facilities, Land Use offices, Bantam Post Office and temporarily, Oliver Wolcott Library while it undergoes renovations. This hearing promises to be the biggest event of the year.
