Matt Dyer, Board of Finance
Matthew Dyer is currently an alternate on the Board of Finance and is running for a full seat on the board this year. Matt is a native of Wyoming who moved to Bristol in 1999. He graduated from UConn School of Law in 2002, and relocated to Litchfield in 2018. He has practiced both civil and criminal law for 21 years, advocating for individuals and small businesses, including local hospitals, auto dealerships and manufacturers, first in his own practice and then as a partner for Furey, Donovan, Cooney & Dyer in Bristol. Matt is married to attorney Kristen Mostowy and has two grown sons.
In 2020 and again in 2022, Matt was the Democratic candidate for State Representative of District 66. Connecting with voters during his campaigns, he learned a great deal about Litchfield residents’ primary issues, the top two being taxes and the high cost of living including Eversource rate hikes and housing costs. Matt’s primary reason for running for the Board of Finance is to continue Litchfield’s focused and smart spending under its current Democratic leadership.
Matt says, “As an attorney, I’ve spent my time representing individuals; real people with real problems that need to be solved. I’m good at representing people’s interest in a system that doesn’t consider the individual. My voice is a representative voice. I speak for people.”
